UPDATED: It’s been several days, but since my original post there are now dozens of comments from folks weighing in…
Like many cable-TV addicts, I occasionally stumble upon MTV’s The Andy Milonakis Show. The show is an absurd collection of comic bits and pieces, pseudo-sketches and man-on-the-street segments, all hosted by an adolescent kid named Andy Milonakis. As someone who had his own (very small) TV show when I was 15, I felt for the guy. Most of the time, the show is not funny, but occasionally, he spins some gold. It helps to have comedian/TV personality Jimmy Kimmel as a producer and mentor. Regardless, the show has become a hit with teen-age and college-age demographics, earning big ratings.
Apparently, though, this overnight TV sensation is not a kid at all. Rumors have begun flying, as well as past interviews with Milonakis, that divulge he may in fact be pushing 30 years old. This came to my attention with a recent Rolling Stone profile, in which both MTV and Milonakis dodge the question of the star’s real age.
