Argentine politician, the governor of Tucumán Province, and father of President Nicolás Avellaneda. He was executed in Metán on 3 October , aged 28, after an unsuccessful revolt against the Federal government, and his head was displayed on a pike. He was nicknamed "the martyr of Metán."

Marco Avellaneda (Ph.D.) (February 16, - June 11, ) was an Argentine-American mathematician and financial consultant. He was the director of the Division of Financial Mathematics at the Courant Institute at New York University.[1]
